PPA alleges violation of election guidelines
ITANAGAR, Jan 16: Alleging violation of election guidelines by Arunachal Pradesh government, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) appealed to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEO) of India to make an inquiry into the matter.
Alleging that the State Govt. had an old habit of mixing politics with electioneering process, PPA claimed that the practice of making the CEO as the commissioner to the Office of Chief Minister along with loading of numerous other plump portfolios like home, education, PWD, relief and so on, not only hampers the free and fair functioning of the electoral process but also defeats the very purpose of the setting of the constitutional body like the Election Commission.
Association demands arrest of wrongdoers
ITANAGAR, Jan 16: The All Arunachal Pradesh Seba Real Estate Marketing Executive Welfare Association (AAPSREMEWA) has sought for immediate arrest of Managing Director, Executive Officer cum Agro Director and Regional Marketing Manager, Seba Real Estate Ltd, state unit alleging financial embezzlement and mismanagement in the company.
In its letter to the DGP, it stated, ever since the imbroglio came out, we have continuously requested the trio to return all our invested money but with no outcome. Rather they are disclaiming that they never advertised nor requested anyone to invest in their company whereas it is a well known fact that Seba Real Estate Ltd, state unit was running only because of the money invested by more than 97000 people.
Now with its entire branch in the state shut down, we lodged an FIR against the trio yet no arrests have been made so far, it held.
The association also sought detailed enquiry into the closure of the company, cause and reason behind the financial loss, closure of all its invested projects across the country and its investigation and record of total income tax paid to the GoI.

AEKSU resents absenteeism
ITANAGAR, Jan 16: Taking strong exception to absenteeism by various officers and officials posted in East Kameng district, the All East Kameng Students’ Union (AEKSU), in a memorandum has demanded the Deputy Commissioner to instruct all the HoDs to stay in their respective place of posting.

Tuki pleads for adequate central fund under NERTP scheme
NEW DELHI, Jan 16: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has welcomed the North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme (NERTPS), which was launched by Union Minister of Textiles, Dr. K.S Rao at New Delhi today in a meeting of senior representatives from all the North Eastern states. The NERTPS is an Integrated Scheme launched for the overall development of the handloom and handicrafts sector with components like Cluster Development, Technology Upgradation, Marketing Promotion and Skill Development.
While emphasizing the fact that the new scheme is ideal for the women weavers of the state, Tuki appealed the Union Ministry of Textiles to allocate funds under the scheme for modernization of equipments and other infrastructure facilities for them. He highlighted the fact that the women weavers of the state have been historically producing traditional garments which are rich in style and design.
“Our weavers are expert and capable of producing competitive products for the national as well as the international markets” Tuki said while seeking adequate support from the Central Government. He disclosed steps taken by the state government which has been rendering looms and other equipments to the women weavers through the CM’s Loin Loom Scheme.
The Chief Minister also stressed on the Skill Development component of the NERTPS so as to benefit local youth who can not only gain expertise through training and employment but also would later be in a position to take up entrepreneurial ventures in the sector. The skill development outlay of the scheme would be aligned with the CM’s Skill Development Mission which would benefit a sizeable population of youth in the coming years.
The meeting was presided over by the Union Minister of Textiles and attended by Union Minister of DoNER Paban Singh Ghatowar, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. Mukul Sangma, senior MPs of NE Region, among a host of other Ministers and senior officials. They unanimously praised the continuous efforts of Chief Minister Tuki in being able to create a comprehensive roadmap for skill development and employment generation for the youth of the state.
The Union Minister of Textiles assured the CM that he would provide adequate funds for not only training and employment, but also for the creation of physical infrastructure to cater to the needs of the youth of the state. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister of Industries, Handloom and Textiles Tapang Taloh along with other representatives from the state government.
Orgs demand scrapping of LSHEP
ITANAGAR, Jan 16: The Nyiko Bachao Forum (NBF), Dam Affected Peoples Forum of Siyom Sirit (DAPFSS) and Siang Bachao Forum (SBF) in a joint meeting here strongly opposed the proposed public hearing on 2700MW Lower Siang HEP to be held on January 31 at Aalo general ground. After discussion threadbare the three organizations further reiterated that state Govt should completely scrap the LSHEP for general interest of the people of both East and West Siang districts.

ITANAGAR, Jan 16: The Induction cum Orientation Programme for newly recruited Assistant Professors in various disciplines for Govt. Colleges of Arunachal Pradesh was today organized at Golden Jubilee Banquet Hall.
Dr. Joram Begi, Director, Higher & Technical Education while welcoming the newly recruited faculty members, shared his experiences regarding development of education sector in the state. Seeing the Aam Admi Party (AAP) magic in the recently concluded election in New Delhi, a lot of people have become hopeful of seeing similar magic in their respective states.
AAP’s victory is not the victory of any other political party; it is the victory of the conscious minds fighting against anomalies in the system.
But can the same be said about Arunachal Pradesh? I guess not. Not until we have crossed a decade of existence.
As we cross the silver jubilee year and enter into our 26th year of statehood, one never fails to ponder about our political history that has been so synonymous with corruption.
We are a fragile state where everybody is frustrated with the irregularities yet neck deep in sync with the system, we find it ‘in’ to say that we are fighting against corruption, yet given the chance we will be amongst those who will practice exactly that.
There are the much struggled newly recruited youngsters in the government sector, future generation, who lookout for plum posting places so that they can make most of the ‘golden’ opportunity.
Most people are angry at the politicians for breaking promises; the promise to grant personal favours in return of the vote.
We seek government jobs and will do anything for it -

Training for medical officers begins
ITANAGAR, Jan 16: Two days contraceptive technology update training for medical officers began at conference hall, DHS, Naharlagun today.
Addressing medical officers at the inaugural function, H Lampung, Addl. MD (NRHM) asked them to update themselves with the new techniques in the medical fields and utilize their knowledge as to provide best services to the people.

The year 2013 was about seeding a mass movement for change, the spark for the movement
having been ignited by Arvind Kejriwal and his dream team with their magic brooms!
2014 is expected to nurture and grow it. A mute audience is no longer what the message-
National Politics in 60’s and 70’s witnessed numerous cases where Congress was able to lure those susceptible to political opportunism and personal political gains. No matter how lucrative the offer is, voters are now less forgiving of old engineered defections and splits. With the dramatic emergence of Aam Aadmi Party, an unprecedented political revolution is likely to take place. The regional satraps will no doubt be flapping around in the hope of forming a Third Front to challenge the main political parties.
We will also get to see if kejriwal can replace the Third Front with a Third Force, which practices an entirely different kind of politics, that doesn’t draw its power from region, religion, caste and class. If Aam Aadmi Party manages to strike powerful coalition with likeminded individuals and formations across India, as it plans, it may well be looking at a new kind of federalism. People’s Party of Arunachal could be a federal constituent of this kind of federalism.
2013 was the year of Transition. 2014 will mark the Power of the New. New faces, fresh trends and transformative ideas will coalesce in what many hope will be the dawn of a new era. The Arunachal of the Old will have to yield to the Arunachal of now.

We the primary member of Nyishi Student community would like sought explanation about
arbitrary decision made by All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) regarding election modalities
and total violation of basic structure of ANSU constitution as follows-
1. As it is well established precedents that, ANSU election shall be held under the banner of ANSU but it is very unfortunate to learn that present Central Executive team is assigning such responsibility to third person which is totally unconstitutional. We demand clarification from ANSU, whether such decision was taken with the approval of two third majorities of present executive members or not? The central executive members is having dictatorial attitude by altering basic structure of constitution. This is kind of encroachment of ANSU constitution.
2. Without consulting with federal unit, i.e. DSU, senior students of ALA, RGU and other likeminded Nyishi students how ANSU can take such unconstitutional decision.
3. ANSU is pressure group and selection of Govt. employee as Chief Election
Commissioner is a ridiculous act of present executive members. We want to know why
ANSU has back down from all the well established norms and guidelines of ANSU constitution.
In this regard, we strongly protest and criticize in strongest words. In Article

Then why it is trying to conduct coming election district wise. Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I want to urge state govt. not to live like a deaf person. Large scale eviction drive was carried out by Assam Forest Official inside the Arunachal territory in Tarasso circle on 9th January 2014. Already seven days has pass by but no any action has been initiated from our lovely deaf state government.
Day by day tension is gripping villagers of Tarasso. The villagers have been forced to leave all their works and fear psycho is haunting them. School staffs are not able to attend duty due to volatile situation and final examination is also knocking at the door. Who will be responsible for children’s future? Can we imagine how terrible is atmosphere there? Werequest GoAP to find out lasting solution for border dispute in Tarasso before any untoward incident happens.
My personal question is, if any one of our relative’s lives is lost then who will take responsibility for it? Is Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh waiting for someone to lose life? After losing of life he will visit and give compensation for sake of election.

Forceful imposition is not healthy practice
The state government’s decision to hold long pending public hearing of 2700 MW Lower Siang Hydroelectric project has again run into controversy. Many organizations have vowed to stall the public hearing proposed on January 31 claiming it to be illegal and against the wishes of local citizen. Terming the notification illegal and unconstitutional, various Siang valley based organizations has alleged that state Govt. has issued notification and fixed places for the public hearing illegally by breaking laid down norms.
The proposed 2700 MW project is being bitterly opposed by the local citizens. In April 2012 state government had cancelled public hearing after stiff opposition by public. The protest took violent turn when employees of Jaypee company involved in the construction of the project were manhandled and many vehicles damaged by protesters. Earlier on May 2010 CRPF resorted to lathi charge and blank firing injuring at least four local people in Pongging village during the protest against construction of dam over river Siang. All these incidents show that local indigenous people do not want dam to be constructed on river Siang. It’s time government listens to them and put an end to 2700 MW Lower Siang Hydroelectric project. The imposition of developmental project against the wishes of local affected people is not good. This project should be scrapped in the interest of local villagers who are deadly against it.
